Not making progress on your weight loss program? The solution may be simpler than you think! Here are three very simple steps to help point you in the right direction.
Step 1: Eat less.
I'm not here to bash any of the "fad" diets, as they all serve an important purpose - to disguise the ugly truth that to lose weight, you have to eat less. The old standard Atkins, the more avant guarde TNT diet, and even the seemingly counter-intuitive intermittent fasting approach are all similarly successful because they rely on the simple concepts of thermodynamics to trick the dieter into creating a caloric deficit.
Macronutrient distribution, meal timing, and food selection all play minor roles relative to overall food intake. "Carbs" won't make you fat. Eating after 8 PM won't make you fat. Not even deep-fried donuts will make you fat. Ultimately, the only thing that will make you fat is excess calories.
The take-home message here? Eat what you like, but don't overdo it. If you're gaining weight, eat a smaller breakfast, or forego the wine with dinner or soda with lunch. There's no need to deprive yourself of your favorite foods - just eat less! Sorry Dr. Atkins, but it really is that simple.
Step 2: Exercise more.
As mentioned above, weight loss or gain will occur by creating a caloric deficit or surplus, respectively. This can be achieved in one of three ways - through diet alone, exercise alone, or diet and exercise combined. If, for example, your goal is to lose weight, you can skip the 500 calorie chocolate cake dessert, eat the dessert and then jog for an hour, or eat half of the dessert and jog for 30 minutes.
In terms of body composition and overall fitness levels, the third option is most effective, but any of the three options will result in almost identical weight loss. That said, since most people want to improve their health, look good, and indulge in "treats" every once in a while, exercising a little more and eating a little less is generally the most viable option.
Step 3: Log!
These days, it's extraordinarily easy to determine the nutritional profile of whatever you might consume, even when eating out. Most restaurants will provide a guide upon request, and free online resources such as Fitday or CalorieKing will take care of the rest.
If you're serious about reaching your goals, start keeping track of what you eat; if you're not making progress, then you can look back at your log and see exactly what you need to change. It may be a little bit inconvenient, but will certainly pay off in the long run.

Here Are 12 ways You Can Get the Most From Social Media
(1) If you are new, make sure you create a profile, as you will get loads of visitors checking out your profile. Make sure you check out theirs, too.
(2) Whether or not you are new, every time you get a visitor, contact that person and ask him or her for feedback. Say, "What did you think of my profile"
(3) Always be polite, courteous, and professional in your communications.
(4) When someone joins up through your link, always visit their profile and ask them how they are getting along. Ask them if they need any help and try to give any help or practical advice they may need, or point them in the right direction.
(5) When you visit someone's profile, ask yourself how you can help this person. Maybe you send them a link to a blog, or forum posting, that will help their business. When you like what you see, say so.
(6) Send them an e-mail or, if you are their approved contact, post a comment on their comments page. When you praise someone, don't just say 'I like your profile'. Say what you like about it: Is it the colors? The wording? Their story? Or the service they are offering?
(7) Many people use social media in a pushy manner in order to sell goods or services and make money. Be different. Your mission is to provide value.
(8) When you help someone, you are building a relationship. This person may refer others to you. Or you can ask the person for a reference which you can add to your website. The more people you help, the more referrals you will get.

The Skeptical and the Hopeful
There are two kinds of people in your audience you need to
especially consider when you write copy and collect
testimonials.
1) The Skeptic. The guy who ain't going to believe a thing
unless he actually walks on the water for himself.
2) The Hopeful. The guy who is yearning so badly for a
solution to his ugly, horrible, desperate problem that he's
hungry and thirsty for salvation in any form.
Sometimes these two kinds of people are the same person.
When we roll those two guys into one, we have someone who
looks at your testimonials with a jaundiced eye, checking
for any sign that somebody's making something up.
-Do these ring true?
-Do they sound like real people?
-Do they all sound like the same guy wrote them?
-If I wanted to check these people out would I ever be able
to?
He asks all those questions.
But... once he gets an affirmative answer to those
questions, he can't unglue himself from your sales page.
He's been looking, hunting, searching, fantasizing for so
long... he reads testimonial after testimonial, drinking in
the hope.
He places the order almost feeling as though his problem
will begin solving itself almost as soon as the transaction
is approved.
And then he can't wait to get it, open it, read it, install it,
devour it.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to provide
so much proof, so much tangible evidence of the power of
your solution - and so much anticipation - that this guy
feels a wave of satisfaction flowing through his body as
soon as he gets done placing the order on your website.

What's Really Important
One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore."
No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute."
Sometimes, what we care about the most
gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I love you."
So while we have it, it's best we love it,
care for it, fix it when it's broken and
heal it when it's sick.
This is true for marriage ...
and old cars, and children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, family and aging parents and grandparents.
We keep them because they are worth it ......
because we are worth it.
Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away
or a sister-in-law after divorce.
There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.
Life is important. We only have one.
We only have one mom, one dad,
one unique brother or sister or friend.
I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'!
Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way.
Now it's your turn to send this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life, including the person who sent it, if you feel that way.
Suppose one morning you never wake up.
Do all your friends know you love them?
I was thinking....I could die today, tomorrow or next week, and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or three words needing to be said.
Let every one of your friends and family know you love them. Even if you think they don't love you back, you would be amazed at what those three little words and a smile can do.
And just in case GOD calls me home . . .
I LOVE YA !
